Nice to see 25th Hour there but City Of God should be higher.

Certainly higher than most of the top 20

No Frozen?

Seriously.

It's got to be one of the best one hundred films made this century.

And yet 1 and 2 are the same, albeit the other way round.

FWIW Can't see my favourite on either list - DOGTOOTH

Not convinced by this list. I prefer, and often refer to, the lists on one of my favourite websites, They Shoot Pictures Don't They. I think it's a much more accurate synthesis of what critics and film-makers think.

Nothing by Inarritu in there. OK, he's done some crap, but 21 grams and Birdman are probably among the best 100 films I've seen this century...

Re: Best Films of the 21st Century
I saw Mulholland Drive when it was on at the London Film Festival.
David Lynch was being interviewed in the foyer afterwards so Naomi Watts was just standing to the side by herself waiting for him to finish.
Did I go and talk to her?
OF COURSE NOT COS I AM AN IDIOT

The dark haired girl was there too but not sure where she had got to.

Mulholland Drive is the greatest film of all time.

Re: Best Films of the 21st Century
I've seen exactly 26 of those (can't be fucked today) but I'm fairly sure that Blue is the warmest colour is the only one where you get to see a couple of birds rimming each other...

Intouchable is currently #38 in the IMDB Top 250 so yea that is a surprise.

Re: Best Films of the 21st Century
Cannot stand films with subtitles usually, but was pushed to watch a French film called The Intouchables.

One of the most heart warming films I've ever watched, and I believe it went onto win numerous awards.

If this is such a global list I'm amazed that hasn't made it in the top 100.

Re: Best Films of the 21st Century
I've only not seen 17 of these. Mainly the 80s and 90s numbers. Agree with a lot of the list but it's horses for courses isn't it.

My top 5 would be:

1. The Tree of Life (Terrence Malick, 2011)
2. There Will Be Blood (Paul Thomas Anderson, 2007)
3. Mulholland Drive (David Lynch, 2001)
4. In the Mood for Love (Wong Kar-Wai, 2000)
5. Synecdoche, New York (Charlie Kaufman, 2008)

but very difficult to choose.
